Storm King on the Hudson by Jasper F. Cropsey
Storm King on the Hudson depicts a fall scene looking south or southwest; showing a sunset over sugged mountains on the right. The center of the painting shows a peninsula of land, forming a small cover and two human figures and grazing sheep.
Jasper Francis Cropsey first started to paint in and around the Hudson River Valley in the 1850s. He continued to visit and paint the region throughout his career.
