What the Families Left Behind

All of the building that were discussed and are still used everyday.  What the havemeyer and Birch families left behind were masterpieces that people can work in, live in, visit and admire in more ways than one.  The impact that these building made on the town could never be put into words.  The Birch Mansion and Havemeyer House brought many people to the area to admire their beauty and still does this to this day.  The Darlington Schoolhouse through all of its changes in ownership and use is still being used to help the town and its visitors. The  Havemeyer House is part of historic building tours in Mahwah and the Birch Mansion and the McBride house wows people and potential students as they come to visit the school.  The Darlington Schoolhouse through all of its changes in ownership and use is still being used to help the town and its visitors.  Without these men and women Mahwah may have never become the town that it is today and all the lives the town impacted could be completely different.  Without these buildings there would be no Ramapo College of New Jersey.
