This portrait of Violet Ruth Young VanHouten during her teenage years. Violet was born in Rockland County , New York on April 6th 1894. She was the daughter of John Franklin Young and Anna Jane Bodine Young. In this photo she looks to be between the age of 13 and 15 years old. Her dress is very conservative and has a round collar. Her hair seems to be tied up behind her head in a bun that kept it from touching or passing her shoulders.
