Thursday Evening

Dear Henrietta,

I must confess that for once, in recent times, the time since I last saw you seems short. I have been busier than a tom-cat in springtime, getting material for the debate while at the same time keeping prepared at school and putting in a few hours of physical work. The reason I did not write before this was due to a miscellany of causes.

We had no lectures on yesterday it being Columbus Day. I did not therefore journey to N.Y. and was not in a position to call you at 4:35.

I had to go to a meeting of the "Cleaning Com." of the fire-mens last night, to the fire drill tonight and am supposed to go to the meeting to-morrow night. All this when I need all my time.

I have already sufficient material for the debate to last a solid hour. The difficulty however is in classifying and arranging it in a logical manner. My reaction to study has been peculiar, radically different from what I expected. I am less sure of my stand than was when started. God forbid, but I seem to be touched with Klanism. I am thrown back in the rear lines with the thought that they don't really mean what they say. However, I have some facts to base my disentation upon.

I think I would appreciate it if my lover was there to hear me, But it you cannot, or if it is unexpedient for you to come home you will probably have other chances to be bored by my harangues.

In fact, there would be a disadvantage, so far as I am concerned in your coming home this weekend. For it must be obvious that I will be busy. Nevertheless if you do come I would like to hear about it.

I am yours,

in love

Frank
